Lakeside Netball Club is currently in it’s 23rd year of operation. Originating from Lakeside Secondary College the Club has expanded and now has players from all across the northern suburbs and even some travelling to play with our great club from the far east, south and west.
ELITE NETBALL
Lakeside Netball Club prides itself in being one of the few clubs in Melbourne who have broken into the Parkville Netball Competition elite competition, Premier League, competing against Association Representative Teams.
Our highest team, currently play in the Premier League Division 2 along with our “Reserve” team in Division 4 and development team in Division 5 (both the reserve and development team being promoted from Div. 5 and 6 respectively at the end of 2009). We also now field a 17/Under team in 17/U Premier League Div. 5. Our goal over the next 2 to 3 years is to reach Premier League Division 1 and have at least 4 teams in Premier League Open Age and 2 teams in 17/Under. Try-outs for each season are held twice a year, and details can be found on this website.
Our Premier League sides train on a Thursday night.
Our elite netball program is run by Head Coach (and President) Geoff Taylor, who is also the Victorian Boys 17/Under Coach and Australian Boys 17/Under Coach.
